San Jose, Calif. - Follow-up investigation by burglary detectives led to the identification of Tai Van Trinh as the suspect responsible for vandalizing businesses in San Jose and the City of Milpitas on April 22, 2020. Based on the preliminary investigation, there is no indication the incidents are hate motivated crimes.

Updated Suspect Vehicle Description: Black 2004 extended cab Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck, Texas license plate "HZM3285."

Detectives are asking for the public's assistance to locate Trinh. Anyone with information is asked to call 911, 311, or contact Detective Ryan Wagner of the San Jose Police Department's Burglary Unit at 408-277-4401.

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a vandalism suspect shown in the linked photos and video. The suspect is responsible for a string of vandalisms where the suspect smashed several glass door and windows. The incidents occurred at the listed locations on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, between 3:15 AM and 6:00 AM. The Milpitas Police Department is also investigating three similar incidents involving the same suspect that occurred on the same date.

  • Case # 20-113-0095: Lee’s Sandwiches, 2525 S. King Rd., San Jose
  • Case # 20-113-0138: Lee’s Sandwiches, 2471 Berryessa Rd., San Jose
  • Case # 20-113-0148: 7 Leaves Cafe, 1743 Berryessa Rd., San Jose 
  • Case # 20-113-0180: Tastea, 1160 N. Capitol Ave., San Jose
  • Case # 20-113-0593: Pho Y #1 Noodle House, 2050 Concourse Dr., San Jose
Suspect Description: Asian or Hispanic male adult, 5' 6", 130 lbs, wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

Suspect Vehicle: Dark pick-up truck (possibly a Toyota Tacoma) with a chrome tool box in the bed of the truck.
