San Jose, Calif. - On Saturday, October 26, 2019, at approximately 5:26 PM, the San Jose Police Department received a call of a person shot in the area of North 5th Street at East Santa Clara Street in San Jose. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. The victims were transported to a local hospital.  Victim Wilmar Spikes was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.  Victim 2 sustained non-life-threatening injuries.  

Patrol officers located suspect #1, Juan VelazquezTellez, in the area shortly after the incident and subsequently booked him into Santa Clara County Jail for murder.  Homicide Detectives conducted extensive follow up and identified four additional suspects.

On November 6, 2019, Suspect #2, Israel Arroyo, and Suspect #3, Miles Guzman, were arrested in San Jose by the San Jose Police Department's Covert Response Unit and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder.

On February 11, 2020, Suspect #4, Alberto Hernandez, was arrested by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office while he was at Santa Clara County Superior Court on an unrelated case. Hernandez had an arrest warrant for conspiracy and was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

On April 30, 2020, the fifth and final suspect, Samuel Arroyo, was arrested in San Jose by the San Jose Police Department's MERGE Unit and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for conspiracy.  All suspects remain in custody.
