On 06/26/2020 at approximately 10:02 PM, Officers responded to the area of North King Road and Alum Rock Avenue to investigate a collision involving two vehicles. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2004 Toyota Camry, operated by an adult female, was traveling eastbound on Alum Rock Avenue at a high rate of speed. The same vehicle traveled through a red signal light and struck a 2002 Dodge Durango, which was operated by an adult male.
The adult female driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to the hospital. On 06/30/2020, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Dodge Durango and two adult passengers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This is the City's 36th traffic fatality of 2020.
