On November 4th, 2020 at approximately 1:03pm, Officers responded to the area of S. De Anza Blvd and Bollinger Road to investigate an auto versus pedestrian collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2015 Grey Mercedes 300, driven by an adult male, was traveling northbound on De Anza Blvd in lane #1 when it struck an adult male pedestrian who attempted to run across the street, outside of the crosswalk. The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital. On November 12th, 2020 the adult male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 42nd fatal collision and the 18th auto versus pedestrian fatal collision for 2020.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.

At the conclusion of the Department's traffic investigation the facts will be presented to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office to determine criminal charges, if any.
