On Saturday, 12/26/2020, at approximately 6:31pm, Officers responded to the area of Story Road and Remillard Court to investigate an auto versus pedestrian collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following: an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Story Road in the number one lane when it struck an adult male pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision. It is believed that the pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle, which also fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The vehicles are described as follows:
1. 2013-2016 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, unknown color
2. 1998-2002 Honda Accord, possibly silver in color.
This is the 46th fatal traffic collision and 47th fatality for 2020. It is also the 19th auto versus pedestrian fatality for this year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara Couty Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim's identity and notify next of kin.
