SJPD Investigating Traffic Fatality

At approximately 11:22 AM, Officers responded to the 1300 Block of McQuesten Drive to investigate a collision involving a 2017 GMC Sierra truck and a juvenile female that was riding an electric bike. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

The driver was entering the apartment complex driveway into the parking area when she collided into the juvenile female that was riding the electric bike. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The driver is cooperating fully with the investigation.

This is the 48th fatal traffic collision and 49th victim of 2020.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim's identity and notify next of kin.
