On February 7th, at approximately 2:00am, Officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Jackson Avenue and Bambi Lane. When they arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The driver was not able to be rescued. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following: the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed while traveling northbound on Jackson Avenue. The vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided head-on with a concrete pillar directly underneath Highway 680. Speed is suspected as a factor.
This is the fourth fatal traffic collision and fourth victim of 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim's identity and notify next of kin.
