On April 5th, 2021, at approximately 4:26 PM, Officers responded to a vehicle versus bicyclist traffic collision in the area of Brokaw Road and Highway 880.
The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult male was riding his bicycle across the lanes of westbound Brokaw Road outside of a marked crosswalk. A Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Brokaw Road when it struck the bicyclist.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital by ambulance; shortly after arriving at the hospital the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
This is the 11th fatal traffic collision for 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
