On April 14th, 2021, at approximately 5:13 PM Officers responded to the 900 block of N. 4th Street on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation led officers to a nearby residence where a possible suspect had barricaded. After extensive negotiations with our Tactical Negotiations Unit, a contingent of special operations officers made entry into the residence and discovered the suspect suffering from what appeared to be one self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 12th homicide of 2021.
