On April 1st, 2021, at approximately 9:45 PM, Officers responded to the area of West San Carlos Street and Leigh Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a bicyclist and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult male was riding his bicycle across W. San Carlos Street, when he was struck by a motorcycle that was traveling in an eastbound direction. The bicyclist did not cross the street at the intersection or a crosswalk. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The adult male motorcyclist suffered minor injuries.
On April 21st, 2021, the bicyclist succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the collision and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 13th fatal traffic collision for 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
