On April 28th, 2021, at approximately 8:34 PM, Officers responded to the 2100 block of Monterey Highway for an auto versus pedestrian traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult female was walking westbound across Monterey Highway with a walker, outside of a crosswalk, when she was struck by an unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle and driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 15th fatal traffic collision, and 16th victim of 2021. This is the 3rd auto versus pedestrian collision for 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
