On September 15, 2020, at approximately 10:00 PM, San José police Officers responded to a shooting call in the 600 block of South 8th Street. Arriving Officers located two adult male victims suffering from at least one gun shot wound each. The victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. Four additional victims were injured by gunfire. San José Police Department Homicide Detectives investigated the mass shooting which resulted in a double homicide.
An extensive follow-up investigation by homicide detectives led to the identification of Suspects Gabriel Desantiago, and Jesus Beltran-Guzman, both are San José residents. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects. On Wednesday, May 13th, 2021, the San José Police Department's Covert Response Unit (CRU) located and arrested Suspect Gabriel Desantiago in Daly City. Gabriel Desantiago was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for murder. Jesus Beltran-Guzman was already in-custody on other charges.
These were the City's 27th and 28th homicides of 2020.
