SJPD Investigates Suspect for Sex with Minors

On December 29, 2020, the San José Police Police Department’s Sexual Assault Investigations Unit received information about suspect Richard Rojo engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with two underage females. Rojo is currently employed by the College of San Mateo as the director of marketing and community relations.

In November 2020, Rojo met one of the victims via social media. He then engaged in sexual activity with the victim he met on social media and an additional second juvenile. The victims were 14 and 15 years old at the time.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rojo who turned himself in at the San José Police Department. He immediately posted bail and is due back in court on June 15, 2021.

We are currently seeking additional victims who may have had contact with the suspect.
