Media Advisory-Delayed Traffic Fatality

On June 2nd, 2021, at approximately 9:44 PM, Officers responded to the area of Naglee Avenue and Dana Avenue to investigate an auto versus pedestrian collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult male was walking across Naglee Avenue, through the intersection, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a 2000 white Toyota Camry that was traveling southbound on Naglee Avenue.
The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. In the early morning hours of June 7th, 2021, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The adult male driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
This is the 22nd fatal traffic collision, and 23rd victim of 2021. This is also the 7th pedestrian fatality of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
