On June 10th, 2021, at approximately 10:58 PM, Officers responded to the area of Snell Avenue and Rosenbaum Avenue to investigate a vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult male driving a 1998 Honda Accord and an adult male driving a 2001 Lexus GS30 were traveling northbound on Snell Avenue at a high rate of speed when both vehicles swerved off the roadway and collided with two separate trees.
The driver of the Honda Accord succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Lexus GS30 remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
Evidence collected at the scene indicates that the vehicles were street racing.
This is the 23rd fatal traffic collision, and 24th victim of 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
