On July 23rd, 2021, at approximately 1:39 AM, Officers responded to the area of Tully Road and La Ragione Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An adult female was walking in the eastbound lanes of Tully Road, outside of a marked crosswalk, when she was struck by an early 2000's red sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, that was traveling in an eastbound direction. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The unidentified driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
This is the 31st fatal traffic collision, and 32nd victim of 2021. This is also the 12th pedestrian death of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
