On December 21, 2020, at approximately 1:06 PM, an attempted homicide with the use of a firearm occurred at the 5100 block of Trinity Park Drive in the Alviso neighborhood of San José. Three male suspects exited a parked vehicle and contacted the victim in the street. One suspect produced a firearm and began shooting at the victim who was struck multiple times. The victim also returned fire at the suspects until he collapsed in an open field. The victim was subsequently physically assaulted by the suspects. A bystander was also struck by a stray bullet during the exchange of gunfire.
The suspects fled the scene in a black Audi.
Assaults Unit detectives worked tirelessly to identify the involved suspects in this attempted homicide. Their hard work resulted in identifying three suspects.
On June 22, 2021, suspects Issac Martinez and Ezau Martinez were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Office in the City of Chandler, AZ and booked into the Maricopa County Jail. Ezau Martinez was extradited to Santa Clara County and is currently in-custody without bail. Issac Martinez is in-custody at the Maricopa County Jail on unrelated charges. He has an active arrest warrant and is awaiting extradition to Santa Clara County.
On July 28, 2021, Angel Gomez, identified as the third suspect, was arrested by the San Jose Police Department’s METRO Unit in the City of San José for his outstanding arrest warrant in this case. He is currently in custody at the Santa Clara County Jail and is being held without bail.
