On August 11th, 2021, at approximately 11:41 PM, Officers responded to the area of Capitol Expressway and Senter Road to investigate a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2007 Yamaha R6 was traveling southbound on Senter Road at a high rate of speed, against a red signal light, when it struck a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was traveling eastbound on Capitol Expressway. The adult male motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The adult male driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as a factor for the driver of the Toyota.
This is the 37th fatal collision and the 38th victim of 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
