During the course of the investigation suspect Miranda was identified as the primary suspect responsible for this homicide. He was located and arrested in San José by Street Crimes Unit Officers on September 28, 2021. Miranda was booked into jail for homicide.

On September 25th, 2021, at approximately 4:06 PM, Officers responded to the area of Remillard Court and Story Road for a report of a possible dead body. Officers located an adult male victim near a creek trail. The male was deceased and had at least one gunshot wound. All indications are that the male was an unhoused person living in the area.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This is the City's 28th homicide of 2021.
