On March 2nd, 2022, at approximately 4:26 PM, Officers responded to a hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of South White Road and Sylvan Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2015-2017 white Ford F-150 or Ranger with a white work box over the entire bed, driven by an unknown driver was traveling northbound on South White Road in the number two lane when it struck an adult male pedestrian. The pedestrian was standing next to a closed driver door of a parked vehicle along the east curb of South White Road, just north of Sylvan Drive.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The suspect vehicle and unknown driver fled the scene after the collision and have not been located or identified.
This is the 17th fatal collision, and 18th victim of 2022. This is also the 10th pedestrian death of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
