On March 16th, 2022, at approximately 5:13 PM, Officers responded to the area of East Santa Clara Street and North 11th Street for a solo vehicle traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2004 Ford sedan, driven by a solo female adult driver, was traveling westbound on East Santa Clara Street in the number one lane approaching North 11th Street. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a light pole on the northwest corner of North 11th Street and East Santa Clara Street.
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Shortly after arriving the driver was pronounced deceased.
This is the 20th fatal collision, and 21st victim of 2022.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
