On April 7th, 2022, at approximately 2:54 PM, Officers responded to the area of Quimby Road and Burdick Way to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2014 Hyundai sedan, driven by an adult male, was traveling eastbound on Quimby Road in the number one lane when it collided with a pedestrian. The adult male pedestrian was crossing Quimby Road in a northbound direction outside of a marked crosswalk.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they were stabilized with non-life-threatening injuries. On April 17th the pedestrian succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was declared deceased at the hospital.

The driver did not exhibit any symptoms of drug or alcohol influence.

This is the 25th fatal collision, and the 27th traffic death of 2022. This is also the 15 pedestrian fatality.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
