On January 8th, 2011, at approximately 1:10 AM, Officers responded to the area of Camden Avenue and Bascom Avenue to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

An unknown make, grey or silver sedan, early 2000s model, was traveling eastbound on Camden Avenue in the number three lane when it collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian was a female juvenile who was in a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported a local hospital with major injuries.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was not located nor was the driver identified.

Following the collision, the juvenile was in a coma and subsequently became a quadriplegic. On April 19th, 2022, over 11 years after the incident, the victim succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased while in hospice care.

The hit and run investigation will be re-opened in an effort to generate leads.

This is the 26th fatal collision, and the 28th traffic death of 2022. This is also the 16th pedestrian fatality.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office.
