On June 15th, 2022, the Medical Examiner determined that the victim in this incident suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision. The medical emergency was determined to be the primary cause of death and not from any injuries sustained in this slow speed incident. Due to this new information we will be removing this incident from traffic fatality statistics for 2022.

On June 11, 2022, at approximately 1:00 PM, Officers responded to the Home Depot located in the 2100 block of Monterey Road to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle that collided into the front of the business. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2001 Ford sedan, driven by an adult male, was driving at a normal speed in the parking lot when it left the driving area and crashed into the front of the Home Depot. The driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries. Shortly after arriving the victim was pronounced deceased.

It is unknown at this time what caused the driver to crash into the business, a thorough traffic investigation is underway.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
