On May 15th, 2022, at approximately 11:20 AM, Officers responded to 5200 block of Vera Lane on a call of a person down. They located an adult female that had sustained at least one stab wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the San José Police Department Homicide Unit began investigating the incident. Homicide detectives conducted a comprehensive, multi-state investigation into the homicide. Homicide detectives identified Kenneth Rogers as the primary suspect in this homicide.
Rogers is a resident of Alameda County and was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) at the time of the homicide.
On June 20, 2022, suspect Rogers was taken into custody by Officers with the Las Vegas Metro Criminal Apprehension Team. He was booked into the Clark County Jail where he remains in custody pending extradition to Santa Clara County.
This was the City's 9th homicide of 2022.
