On June 22nd, 2022, three suspects were arrested for this homicide that occurred on April 16th of this year. Homicide Unit detectives conducted a comprehensive investigation that led to the identification of the suspects.

Suspect Ricardo Padilla was arrested in the City of Oakland by the San José Police Department’s Covert Response Unit (CRU). Co-suspect Jocelyn Velazquez was arrested in San José by CRU. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office arrested the last suspect, Daniel Macias, in Redwood City.

All three were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for Homicide.

On April 16th, 2022, at approximately 6:08 PM, Officers responded to 13000 block of Pfeifle Avenue on a report of a shooting. The adult male was transported to a local hospital by associates prior to Officers arriving. He was suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. The suspect is unidentified and remains at large.

The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 8th homicide of 2022.
