SJPD Arrests Suspect for Homicide #22

Patrol Officers and Homicide Detectives responded to this incident and began a thorough investigation. During the course of the investigation suspect Manuel Gutierrez was identified as the primary suspect for this homicide. Gutierrez was detained and arrested at the scene; he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on July 15th, 2022. The motive for this incident is still under investigation.

On July 15th, 2022, at approximately 6:00 AM, Officers responded to the 2100 block of Monterey Road on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 22nd homicide of 2022.
