On July 26th, 2022, at approximately 2:10 AM, Officers responded to the area of Charcot Avenue and O'Toole Avenue to investigate a solo vehicle traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2009 grey Honda sedan, occupied by a solo male driver, was traveling eastbound on Charcot Avenue in the number one lane, when it left the roadway at the intersection of O'Toole Avenue and struck a five foot concrete barrier/divider for Highway 880. The driver was declared deceased at the scene.
This is the 39th fatal collision, and the 41st traffic death of 2022.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
