On July 28th, 2022, at approximately 8:06 AM, Officers responded to the area of Curtner Avenue and Briarwood Drive to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2009 Toyota sedan, driven by an adult female, was making a left turn from northbound Briarwood Drive onto westbound Curtner Avenue. The vehicle collided with a motorcycle, ridden by an adult male, that was traveling eastbound on Curtner Avenue in the number two lane. The motorcyclist sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This is the 40th fatal collision, and the 42nd traffic death of 2022.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
