WHAT: The 1st of two distributions: Backpack and School supply distribution to Santee Elementary School students

WHO: Local Non-profit Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley, Uniformed police officers from various Santa Clara County police agencies, including the San José and Milpitas Police Departments, Moffett Field 129th Security Force Squadron, CHP, Santa Clara County Sheriffs, Premier One Credit Union, elected officials, Community Volunteers, will distribute 400+ backpacks, school supplies, children’s books, parents will receive $50.00 grocery gift cards, and warm food kits distributed by Loaves and Fishes.
When: Saturday, August 6, 2022 10:00AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Santee Elementary School
San José , CA- On Saturday, August 6, 2022, the Shop with a Cop SV along with several local law enforcement agencies, corporate leaders, Premier One Credit Union, San José Police Crime Prevention, Loaves and Fishes, Starbucks, and community volunteers will be at Santee Elementary School distributing backpacks and school supplies, $50.00 grocery gift cards, books, and food to 400+ pre-selected elementary school students. Due to Covid-19, this will be a no contact event. The Shop with a Cop Foundation of Silicon Valley’s mission is to foster goodwill between the police and community. “This has been a difficult year for many families from our community. We are pleased to be providing these students with the tools they need to start the school year off right. Our local police officers want to help. Shop with a Cop SV is about rebuilding trust and confidence in the community. We need to show officers through a positive lens,”-Darrell Cortez Executive Director
Local police agencies and uniformed police personnel will distribute backpacks loaded with supplies to children and families with a drive thru and drive out process. Officers, elected officials, and community volunteers will be available for comments.
