MEDIA ADVISORY
The San José Police Department implemented new technology to assist with and maintain requests related to the California Public Records Act. The technology, herein referred to as GovQA, is a secure cloud-based site which provides a direct link for the public to request and receive public records pertaining to the San José Police Department, utilizing a personal account and password. The GovQA public portal will also include access to police calls for service data, crime statistics, policies, training materials, and records pertaining to specific incidents available for public disclosure. This tool supports the Department's commitment to transparency.
