On October 29, 2022, at approximately 11:26 PM, Officers responded to the intersection of Kaufmann Court and Melbourne Boulevard on a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found two adult males suffering from at least one gunshot wound each. Officers rendered life saving aid, and both victims were transported to a local hospital. One male succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.
During the initial investigation, an adult male was taken into custody at the scene. Preliminary information is that the male was the suspect responsible for the shooting. The case will be presented to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office for review and possible charges.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
This is the City's 31st homicide of 2022.
