Homicide Detectives conducted a comprehensive and thorough investigation following this incident. As a result, suspect Dagoberto Flores-Rogel, 39 years old and a resident of San José, was identified as the person responsible for this murder.

On Thursday October 27th, SJPD’s Covert Response Unit (CRU) took the suspect into custody in the city of Santa Clara. He was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for homicide.

On February 24th, 2022, at approximately 7:15 PM, Officers responded to the 3000 block of Driftwood Drive on a report of a dead body. Officers and arriving paramedics located an unresponsive adult female inside the residence. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy, and it revealed that the victim had suffered suspicious injuries. Based on the Coroner's Office investigation, the case was deemed a homicide.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. The suspect is unidentified and remains at large. 

The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 12th homicide of 2022.
