***UPDATE*** SJPD Arrests Suspect for Homicide #1

On January 1st, 2023, at approximately 6:10 PM, Officers responded to the 400 block of West San Carlos Street on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted with a life-threatening injury. On January 9, 2023, the victim succumbed to his injury at the hospital and was pronounced deceased.

Homicide Detectives began a comprehensive and thorough investigation into this incident; the suspect was identified as Henry Livingston, a resident of San José. The suspect was arrested by the Department’s Covert Response Unit (CRU) in San José on January 10, 2023. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

This was the City's 1st homicide of 2023.
