On April 18, 2023, at approximately 6:15 PM, patrol Officers responded to the area of N. White Road and Kentridge Drive to investigate a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2001 Grey Chevrolet PT Cruiser, driven by an adult male, was traveling northbound on N. White Road when it veered into the southbound lanes of N. White Road and struck an adult male pedestrian standing in the bike lane waiting to cross the street.
The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. On April 20, 2023, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 8th fatal collision, and the 9th traffic death of 2023. This is also the 6th pedestrian death of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
