On June 12, 2023, at approximately 8:04 AM, patrol Officers responded to the area of Mckee Road and Highway 680 to investigate a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2008 red Lexus sedan, driven by an adult male, was travelling westbound on Mckee Road when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was walking northbound across Mckee Road outside of any marked crosswalks.
The adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
This is the 20th fatal collision, and the 21st traffic death of 2023. This is also the 13th pedestrian death of the year.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
