The San José Police Department, in conjunction with multiple local law enforcement agencies, conducted a large-scale operation and apprehension effort between May 23rd and June 15th to apprehend violent criminal street gang members responsible for a series of crimes that spanned from fall of 2022 to June 2023. These crimes included attempted murder, armed robberies, assaults, possession of firearms, and possession of narcotics.
In response to this escalating gang activity, SJPD’s Gang Investigations Unit (GIU), SJPD's Gun & Hazardous Offender Suppression Team (G.H.O.S.T.), SJPD's Assaults Unit, and Patrol Officers identified gang members responsible for multiple violent crimes which occurred in San José.
Officers from the department’s Gang Investigations Unit, Assaults Unit, G.H.O.S.T., Covert Response Unit (CRU), MERGE, and additional Special Operations personnel executed multiple search warrants throughout the city of San José and at one location in East Palo Alto. Nine adults and three juveniles were arrested for warrants and other on-view offenses. Searches at these residences yielded multiple firearms and ammunition, gang indicia, narcotics, and evidence of other crimes.
The adults were subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and the juveniles were booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall.
We want to thank all the local agencies who assisted throughout the entirety of the investigation.
