SJPD Arrests Two Suspects for Attempted Homicide

On January 18, 2023, San José Police Department Assaults Unit Detectives investigated a shooting that took place in the 30 block of West Reed Street, in San José. During the investigation, Anthony Watson was determined to be the primary suspect who entered the residence and shot the victim at least once, ultimately resulting in non life-threatening injuries. It was also determined that Richard McCord was involved and conspired with the primary suspect prior to the incident.  

SJPD Assaults Detectives obtained arrest warrants for both suspects and search warrants for their respective residences, resulting in the seizure of ammunition and an unregistered privately made firearm (PMF) or ghost gun. On June 20, 2023, both suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for Attempted Homicide and Conspiracy to Commit Attempted Homicide.
