On July 24, 2023, at approximately 4:20 AM, patrol Officers responded to the intersection of Camden Avenue and Highway 85 to investigate a fatal collision involving a vehicle and a scooterist. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2023 Gray Chevy Trailblazer, occupied by an adult female driver, was travelling westbound on Branham Lane through a green light at the intersection with Camden Avenue when it struck an adult male that was riding an electric scooter southbound on Camden Avenue.
The adult male pedestrian sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This is the 28th fatal collision, and the 29th traffic death of 2023.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
