On June 11, 2023, patrol Officers responded to a home invasion and attempted homicide in the 100 block of Bendorf Drive. During the commision of the crime, the suspect shot the victim at least once. The victim was transported to a local hospital and stabilized.
San José Police Department Robbery Unit Detectives began a thorough investigation and identified Evan Haley and four juveniles as the suspects. Robbery Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the suspects and search warrants for their residences.
On July 18, 2023, suspect Haley was located and arrested in the city of Santa Clara and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for home invasion and attempted homicide. The juveniles were arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. The residential search warrants yielded five handguns (one PMF/Ghost Gun and four unregistered), extended magazines, drum magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
