On August 10, 2023, at approximately 9:15 PM, patrol Officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in the area of Tully Road and Mclaughlin Avenue in San Jose. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:

A 2001 black Suzuki motorcycle, occupied by a lone adult male driver, was traveling westbound on Tully Road when it struck the passenger side of a 2000 tan Buick Sedan as it was turning left from eastbound Tully Road. The vehicle was occupied by an adult male driver and adult female passenger. The occupants of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.    

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with major injuries and later stabilized. On September 3, 2023, SJPD was notified by the Santa Clara County Coroners Office that the motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on August 30, 2023.   

This is the 34th fatal collision, and the 35th traffic death of 2023. 

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
