On October 22, 2023, at approximately 1:03 AM, patrol Officers responded to a major injury collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle in the area of Jackson Avenue and Alexian Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2003 Dodge Truck occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling northbound on Jackson Avenue attempting to make a left turn into a nearby apartment complex when it collided with a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle, ridden by a lone adult male, who was traveling southbound on Jackson Avenue.
The rider of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Dodge truck remained on scene and was arrested after the completion of an on scene DUI investigation. The driver was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol.
This is the 41st fatal collision, and the 42nd traffic death of 2023.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
