On October 21, 2023, the San José Police Department received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in the 1000 Block of The Alameda. The SJPD Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) Detectives were notified and immediately began investigating the sexual assault. During the investigation, Sandeep Sandeep was identified as the primary suspect. The investigation revealed that while working as a food delivery driver, the suspect forced his way into the motel room during a delivery, and sexually assaulted the female juvenile.
SJPD SAIU Detectives and patrol officers located and arrested the suspect later that evening in the city of Campbell. The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with intent to commit a sex crime, sexual battery, and false imprisonment.
