On September 23, 2023 at approximately 2:05 AM, the crimes of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon occurred in the area of Stewart Avenue and Alum Rock Avenue. After a confrontation that occurred in a restaurant, the suspect followed victims and intentionally ran them over in a vehicle. The suspect fled the scene and later returned, striking another victim, resulting in life-threatening injuries.
San José Police Department Assaults Unit Detectives conducted a comprehensive investigation and a juvenile male was revealed as the primary suspect.
SJPD Assaults Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. On November 8, 2023, SJPD's Covert Response Unit (CRU) arrested the juvenile suspect in the city of San José. The juvenile suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall for attempted murder, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
