SJPD Investigates Homicide #32

On November 13, 2023, at approximately 12:46 PM, Officers responded to a residence in the 50 block of Lester Avenue for a family disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers located an unconscious adult male victim that had been assaulted by his daughter's boyfriend. The male suspect was located in the residence and taken into custody without incident by patrol Officers and booked for the assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, but was stabilized. 

On December 7, 2023 the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Based on the preliminary investigation, the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office began an investigation citing the cause of death as a homicide. SJPD Homicide Unit Detectives contacted Family Violence Unit Detectives and took over the investigation. Detectives determined that the suspect was not in custody, and they authored and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect. 

On December 7, 2023, the suspect was located and arrested by SJPD's MERGE Unit. The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for the homicide warrant.

This was the City's 32nd homicide of 2023.
