On July 11, 2022 at approximately 12:51 PM, patrol Officers responded to the 6400 block of Hellyer Avenue for a report of an adult male in medical distress with CPR in progress. The male was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. During the investigation, a witness stated that the victim had been in a physical fight with a suspect prior to the medical emergency.
On December 12, 2023, the Santa Clara County Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office provided Detectives with autopsy results for the victim, citing the manner of death as homicide.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
This is the City's 35th homicide of 2023.
