On December 2, 2023, at approximately 5:16 PM, Officers responded to a residence in 900 Block of Thelma Way for a report of a possible deceased person. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult female with obvious signs of physical trauma who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
SJPD Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and began a thorough investigation. During the course of the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Ray Garcia.
On December 22, 2023, the suspect was charged with homicide while already in custody at Santa Clara County Jail for a separate case.
This was the City's 31st homicide of 2023.
