SJPD Investigating Homicide #2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

On November 12, 2023 at approximately 11:18 PM, patrol Officers responded to the 100 block of N. 14th Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. 

Additional Officers observed a male running away from the scene. Officers initiated a foot pursuit and ultimately took the suspect into custody without incident. A discarded firearm was also located nearby.  

On January 15, 2024 the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

The suspect is currently in custody for the initial incident at Santa Clara County Main Jail and charges will be amended to include Homicide. 

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. 

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.

This is the City's 2nd homicide of 2024.
