On June 25, 2023, at approximately 3:26 PM, patrol Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a bicyclist in the area of N. 13th Street and E. Santa Clara Street. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A 2003 silver Lexus, occupied by an adult male driver, was turning westbound onto E. Santa Clara Street from southbound N. 13th Street, when it struck a bicyclist being ridden by an adult male, traveling eastbound on E. Santa Clara Street.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries that were later determined to be life-threatening.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
On January 24, 2024 the bicyclist succumbed to his injuries sustained during the collision and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 3rd fatal collision and 3rd traffic death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
