On January 11, 2024, at approximately 6:43 AM, patrol Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Quimby Road and S. White Road. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
An unknown vehicle, occupied by an unknown driver, was travelling westbound on Quimby Road when it struck an adult male pedestrian who was running in and out of traffic, outside of a marked crosswalk.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later stabilized. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and is outstanding.
On January 27, 2024, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
This is the 4th fatal collision and 4th traffic death of 2024. This is also the 3rd pedestrian death of 2024.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after confirming the victim’s identity and notifying next of kin.
